Friday, November 8, 2013 – The First Day of the Quest!
We left the house a little after 8:00 AM and headed south-west. We’ve tried to start out our Quest going to different shops from the year before.
Our first stop this year was Kelly Ann’s Quilting Shop in Warrenton, VA. Kelly Ann is the owner/operator and is a fun lady! She was already busy behind the counter helping “Questers”. If you follow her on Facebook you know that she has some special helpers in her store.
Our 2nd stop of the day was in Winchester, VA, at The Scrappy Apple Quilt Shop.
Here we meet another Kelley, the owner & operator of this shop. We got to shop around here a bit before a busload of Quilters arrived. Seems we were 20-30 minutes ahead of the bus wherever we went today! Love the quilt she made with some of the Quest fabric!
This finished our two shops in Virginia for today. We then headed north into western Maryland, to Hagerstown, and Traditions at the White Swan. We were able to leisurely shop and enjoyed visiting with other shoppers and staff.
This is one of Hubby’s favorite shops. He loves quilting, but can you guess what else he likes?
This lovely spread had Slow Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup (Chili), Homemade Pumpkin Bread & Slow Pot Apple Butter. Thank you, it was Yummy! Your hard work was greatly appreciated. A marvelous chance to sit, rest, visit and snack.
I’ll close this post for now and will post more about the next two shops in a bit.

Nice coverage of the shop hop! Sounds like a lot of fun and looks like the shop owners are doing a great job hosting shoppers, as well as providing goodies for husbands.
