Join me and the Quilty Pleasures Blog as we get a sneak-peak of some of the blocks.  Friend Quiltmaker Magazine on Facebook and you can see these and other blocks.

Each day the Blog Tour  features pictures of Blocks and shares links to the Blogs of several of the Block Designers.

My Tested Blocks

My group tested 13 of the 100 Blocks.  We randomly received patterns and didn’t know (and had no choice) as to which techniques we would be testing.  All Blocks finish to 12” square (12-1/2” unfinished).

Susan Guzman – Block #704 – Bouclier de la France (Applique)

The Quilty Pleasure’s Blog previewed this block on their post today calling it traditional and modern at once.

This is the block that I made using Susan’s pattern.

MEF-Guzman

Yesterday, Quiltmaker Magazine previewed one of the 100 Blocks on their Facebook Page.  I tested this block.

Jo Morton – Block #747 – Dutch Basket (Mixed Technique/Pieced & Applique)

JoMorton-DutchBasket

Half of this block is pieced using HST (Half-Square Triangles) and the other half is Appliqued. My Basket is brown and cream and features blue/purple flowers-

I made a block from 1 of the listed Featured Designers.

Cindy Lammon – Block #790 – Watermark (Pieced)

When made into a quilt using only this block, the corner squares create a secondary design of a Four-Patch.  See an example of this on her Blog.

My Block would have a Cranberry/Emerald Four-Patch with the Blue/Gold Square in a Diamond floating between –

There are more blocks to share, but for now, go check out the Featured Designers.  Maybe you’ll find a block you might want to make!  Sign up on their Blogs and you may win a copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Volume #8.

Join me tomorrow and I’ll share more of the blocks I’ve made.
