Last week we enjoyed some decent weather. I spent a couple of days working at a vendor booth at the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA.
Setting up Fabric Café’s Booth – Hang the Quilt Samples. It is nice to see the completed quilts for the tops that I pieced: Chevron Pattern (Pink/Green/Black Floral) and Snowball (Red/Cream/Black Chickens/Roosters) are two of them.
See the table with boxes & boxes of 3-yard Bundles just waiting for someone to take them home. Still more to unpack and set up.
A little more work and the booth was finished and ready for the shoppers. Bundles, Patterns, Chenille-by-the-Inch, Fat Quarters, and more.
It was a busy time and got to see and talk with a lot of quilters, young and old, beginner and seasoned quilters.
The booth wasn’t that big – only about 10’ x 20’ – but would you believe I walked over 3 miles one day and nearly that another day – and that was mostly inside that booth! I need to work on my treadmill more, it was exhausting! But fun!!
We got home just before old man winter dumped another winter storm on our area – actually across most of the U.S.! Many thoughts & prayers went with the vendors that had to pack up Sunday and drive home or even to another show in this weather.
Fabric Café headed north to New Jersey for another show.
Here is a picture, courtesy of Donna Robertson of Fabric Café, of their truck & trailer waiting for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to cross the Delaware River.
Donna shared another picture. They made it into New Jersey and have settled in for the night and are hoping for better weather when they get set up for the show.
Experiencing Cabin Fever?? If you are in the area this weekend (March 6-9), head over to the Quilt Fest of New Jersey at the Garden State Exhibit Center, 50 Atrium Drive, Somerset, NJ, and say hi to Donna & Robert at the Fabric Café booth. Thank them for trekking through the winter storm to share their products at the show.
Didn’t get much sewing done today. It seems I frequently have to stop and clean my sewing space! I did come home with some 3-yard Bundles and 3-yard Backings.
One Bundle is Dancing Ballerina Bears with purple & pink and the other is “Cars” with Black Chex and Red. Now I need to choose what pattern I want to make, but these will make cute quilts. One is for a new baby girl neighbor and the other is for a young man who is about to become a big brother.
Tomorrow will be a Sew Day!! I’m behind on my BOMs!
Happy Stitching!!

Fabric Cafe’s booth looks awesome! How cool to have your quilt tops on display.

It seems so strange that your mid-Atlantic region has had so much worse a winter than we have, way upstate in NY! It’s nice you have so much to work on that you don’t mind being home!

This is definitely NOT a normal winter. It is currently 8 degrees F and our March average temperature is in the 50’s! I don’t want to know how much snow we would have had if this last storm hadn’t begun as rain!
