Yesterday our Quilting For Good group met at G-Street Fabrics in Rockville, MD. There were about 11 ladies working on quilts for Mary’s Center in Washington, DC. Our group meets once a month on the first Friday (except July & August) from 10 AM to 3 PM. G-Street Fabrics donates the classroom and sewing machines, and we welcome anyone with basic sewing/quilting skills to come and work with us.
Some serious quilting is going on here.
Batting must be cut for a finished quilt top. It’s great to have a large table-top to spread out on.
Some binding needed to be cut. We use 2-1/2” strips for our bindings.
Some consulting over what to do next. It is always nice to have the thoughts of other quilters to help make decisions on what to do.
Show and Tell Time. Checking out the quilts brought by Friendship Star Quilt Guild to be taken to Mary’s Center along with the quilts we’ve made.
Quilts – Quilts – Quilts
Not all quilts are made on the Fridays we meet. Many ladies will make quilts at home and bring them in. We love Show & Tell and seeing what others have done.
We have one more meeting until the Summer Break. See you all again in June.
Happy Stitching!

Looks like a fun group of quilters!

We never know how many will be there. We have a ‘core’ group who mainly attend every month, but then we have drop-ins and newbies. So much fun and so much good work done.

It’s always great to stitch with friends and make quilts for those that need them!
