Because of the Blog Tour last week, we took a break from our normal Tuesday Tips.
Before the Tips, a PSA (Public Service Announcement):
Don’t Do This – Here is an article everyone who absentmindedly holds pins in their mouth should read.
Now here’s this week’s Tips from the Internet –
Squaring Up Your Quilt – Cheryl of Dining Room Empire Blog shares a tutorial to help reduce your fear when approaching this part of preparing your quilt for binding.
Quick-and-Easy Quilt Hanging Corner Pockets – watch this YouTube video presented by Quilter’s Newsletter which demonstrates a different way to hang your smaller quilts/wall hangings.
Free Motion Quilting Tutorials – Here is a collection of videos you may want to save and have as a reference when you are faced with that dreaded phrase – “Quilt As Desired.” Thank you to Lori of “The Inbox Jaunt” Blog.
Make Your Own Laminate Fabric – This is handy for making Placemats, Diaper or Toiletry Bags, or other projects that need easy wiping. This was written by Michael Ann of Michael Ann Made. and posted on the “See Kate Sew” Blog.
Tutorial – Half Square Rectangles – Check out this post on “A Thousand Needles” Blog. This is something I haven’t done, but I do see it in my future. I’ll probably be checking this out a number of times.
Adjusting Tension Tips – C.T.Publishing Blog shared tips about Adjusting Thread Tension. I know there is an adjustment for the upper thread tension and an adjustment on the bobbin holder for the bobbin thread tension. I don’t know about you, but when faced with tension problems I can usually decide which thread needs adjusting, but I don’t know what to do to make the change. This will be printed and posted near my machine to help when faced with this dilemma.
Well, that’s it for this week. Hope you found something helpful.
Happy Stitching!
