Is it Spring yet? Well, not quite. Thursday it was damp, wet, cold and SNOWING!! I couldn’t get a picture of it. The camera just didn’t seem to see the heavy, fine snow flakes that were falling.
Really. Trust me. It was snowing, heavy, all day. But it had been warm enough the past several days, it just melted as it the ground.
Then in the evening, on the way to have dinner with Scott, Donna & Aiden Lee, it was sleeting and foggy. It is suppose to still be light out at 6:30 pm!
OK – here’s a few things I’ve found this week to add to my To-Do-One-Day List.
- Labels – Make Your Own – Do you add labels to your quilts? Here is a tutorial on how to make labels using your Printer – fabric – and Lite EX-Steam II by Pellon.
Some interesting tips include the type of Ink to be used (Pigment and not dye or water soluble).
- Medallion Table Runner by Jinny Beyer – promising an intricate-looking, but easy to make table runner with graduated shading.
Believe it or not – no tricky piecing –just straight-seam sewing!
- Log Cabin Cross is shared by Sweet Seasons of Life blog. This takes 4 log cabin blocks – two 9-1/2” Squares and two 9-1/2” x 20-1/2” Rectangles to create a small wall hanging.
You may need to refresh your memory about Log Cabin block construction, but instructions are given for cutting fabric and basic assembly.
- Charity Highlight – Quilts for Kids – based in Fairless Hills, PA, through volunteers, this organization transforms “fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children in need.”
Kits are provided and once the completed (and washed) quilts are distributed. Six basic patterns are included on this site to download and can be used for other charity outlets. Click Here to read all about this organization.
That’s it for today. Been a busy week! More on that this Sunday!
