I did spend some time in my sewing room on the 1st. I found this cute tutorial for a scissors case on the Patchwork Posse Blog and while waiting on some visitors expected in the early afternoon I pulled out some scrap fabric and created one. It didn’t take long at all.

2 Pocket Scissor Pouch
I did a few things different. Since there would be pointed objects in the pocket, I chose to add batting to give a little cushion. The instructions didn’t give dimensions for the button loop. I used some ribbon and guessed about 4.5 inches and after the fact felt maybe 5 inches would be better. Then after I put the rotary cutter in the larger back pocket, I got to thinking using a pony-tail band would be even better because it would have some stretch. I plan on making a few more of these.
Yesterday, I didn’t use my sewing machine, but did dig around in my fabric. Working toward my OMG, I auditioned the fabric for the pillowcases trying to decide which to use for the band, trim and body. I think I will make the standard pillowcase with this combo.

Mary-Thon 26 Miles in 26 Days Challenge: I’m happy to report that I have completed 7 of my 26 days of at least a mile a day. I have managed a total of 21 miles either on the exercise bike or walking in addition to the rest of my daily steps.

Moving Forward 2017 Mary-Thon Winter Tri-26 miles in 26 days Challenge – 7 days done.
Half Mary-Thon/Ultra Half Mary-Thon: I completed my first Half Mary-Thon in June and began my 2nd one in July. A Half Mary-Thon is a commitment to move 30 minutes a day for at least 3 days a week for 26 weeks. As of yesterday I have completed 22 weeks since July 1st. The Samsung Health App on my phone ‘rewards’ me when I complete 60 minutes of activity a day. Here are my rewards for this week.

Samsung Health App – Nov 26-Dec 2 Rewards for being active 60 minutes or more
For good measure, I set my goal in the App to be active 60 minutes a day. I may have to increase that goal for 2018.
Heading to the grocery store this morning, but hoping to be in my sewing room this afternoon.
Happy Stitching (and Moving)!
