January 2018 – OMG

I’m still keeping it simple, but hoping on making progress.  So my OMG is to bind and label the Choo Choo Quilt.  I have the binding cut and the label printed.  I will be attaching the binding by machine since this quilt if for a cutie 1-year old, so hoping that this will progress quickly.

As far as my other goals, they will be simple, too.

2018 UFO Challenge

  1. UFO Challenge – On Facebook, I’ve again joined 2018 American Patchwork & Quilting UFO Challenge. Last year I wasn’t too successful, but I’m having high hopes for this year.  We make a list of 12 UFO’s (UnFinished Objects), and on the first of the month a random number is released. The object of this Challenge is to work on a project.  It may just be working on it, but the hope is to actually finish it. I was easy on myself.  The first number drawn was #12 – So my UFO Challenge Project for January 2018 – Clean my sewing room and make my list!
  2. Small Projects – Following the theme of Keep it Simple, I’ve identified several small projects to work myself back into my sewing mojo.
    1. Mug Rugs
    2. Pot Holders
    3. Scissor Caddy and Needle cases
    4. Toddler Apron
    5. 9-Patch Star Table Runner
    6. Ethan Blocks #9-12

Guess you can tell, my theme for 2018 will be Keep it Simple.  My responsibilities have exploded and I know I won’t have as much time as I have in the past.  But I find sewing is very therapeutic and helps me feel like I’ve accomplished something.  I’m looking forward to getting back into Stitching.

How about you?  Any stitching in your future??

Happy Stitching!

  3. I love your theme for the year and that you are using small, manageable goals to motivate you to get back into sewing. Good luck with the binding and with the UFO challenge!

  4. It’s great to have these goals as long as you don’t feel too much pressure. I have joined this monthly one because I think that gives me enough time to do whatever so I love your motto for 2018. I too find my stitching theraputic so here’s to another wonderful year of stitching for both of us!!
