I can’t say I didn’t get any stitching done in the past year. But I haven’t been able to reveal some of the pictures until now. Those of you that have followed my Blog for a while know that I make Flimsies (pieced tops that haven’t been quilted yet) for Fabric Cafe. Sometimes the Flimsies are made from new fabric using older patterns to be made into quilts & displayed at their booth at quilt shows, but other times they are pattern testing for new patterns or even a book of patterns.
This Spring, Donna was working on her newest book – Fast & Fun 3-Yard Quilts – which has just now been released. I had the privilege to test four out of eight of the patterns in the book.

2018 – Fabric Cafe’s Newest 3-Yard Quilts Book
Each pattern is made twice by two different testers to ensure clear & correct instructions. The four patterns I made were the following:
- Brick Street – Pink Butterflies/Cream/Multi Color Circles, I made the one pictured in the book,
- Courtyard – Burgundy/Cream/Floral Fabric. This one is also pictured in the book,
- Lickity Split – Halloween attired dogs/Teal/White Dots on Black,
- Park Place – Blue/Multi Color Circles/Tropical Fish.
- 2018 – Fabric Cafe/Fast & Easy 3-Yard Quilts – Tested
With a lot of strip piecing, and larger pieces, all of these quilts work up fast.
This book and fabric are available online at Fabric Cafe. This weekend Donna & Robert will be at the Quilt Expo at Madison, WI, and later in September they will be at the PA National Quilt Extravaganza in Oaks, PA. For the first time in a number of years, I will miss working with them in Oaks. You can also check out their Show Schedule on the website.
OK, this post is sorta a commercial message, but it is about something I made.
Happy Stitching & Moving!
Quilt Mouse
I’ll be at the Madison show tomorrow. I’ll have to look for their booth.
