See me doing a Happy Dance! I’ve been very productive this month and was able to complete both my UFO Challenge and my OMG project before the end of the month.
I’ve been able to mark off two – did you read that right, yes, TWO UFO’s. Technically, one was January’s UFO and the other was February’s. But Done is Done!!
The one on the left was started in 2016 for our daughter, but life got in the way. Plus, I always stumble when it comes to adding the binding. The pattern is Corner Play by Donna at Fabric Cafe. It is a 3-yard Bundle pattern, but I doubled it to make it a Twin/Full. I used 2 yards each of three different fabrics. To finish it, I had to sew the binding on both the front & the back. Then I needed to create a label and stitch it to the back.
Adding the binding to Corner Play Not enough room for quilt to be flat so it’s a struggle stitching the binding.
The quilt on the right is also a pattern from Fabric Cafe, called Checkmate. I made the top at last April’s Quilt Retreat and had my friend longarm quilt it. It needed to be trimmed/squared, the binding made & stitched on both the front & the back and add the label. This is for our newest Grand Nephew that was born last April.

My February One Monthly Goal was to complete one block for Project Linus 2018 Mystery Quilt Challenge, and two of the same block for Project Linus 2017 Mystery Quilt Challenge.
Violet’s Donuts Penquin #1 & #2
The block on the left is the tray of donuts just out of the oven at Sweet Violet’s Bakery and Confectionary (2018 Mystery Quilt Challenge). The two penguins on the right can be found while Exploring the World with Ethan (2017 Mystery Quilt Challenge).

Hope you’re getting some stitching done!
Woohoo!! Great month for you!! Those penguins are adorable.

When I’m trying to add binding to a large quilt, I get hubby to help me. He keeps the quilt from falling off the table, and helps move it along when needed.

Congrats on your finishes! I just pulled out all my Project Linus 2017 blocks to assemble into a quilt top. I remember seeing the layout and feeling totally overwhelmed. But it’s time to finish it up because my niece really liked all the blocks. Are you using the patterns to create your own layout?

I will probably just use the given layout. Not sure my sewing mojo is back enough to be too creative. I love looking at all the finishes! Thanks for visiting.
