Looking toward the Dog Days of Summer, and I expect I will be spending more time in my sewing room. It seems that in July I was on a roll, so hoping to keep the momentum up this month. In addition to APQ’s UFO Challenge and Elm Street Quilt’s OMG, I’m planning on working on several UFOs and maybe get back to my Current Projects from earlier in the year.
(OK, for those not in the quilting world – UFO stands for UnFinished Object, and OMG means One Monthly Goal.)
American Patchwork & Quilting’s UFO Challenge. Participants created a list of 12 (or more) unfinished projects that we hoped to work on or complete this year. The first of the month a random number is announced and that is the project to work on. For August it is Number 10.
My August UFO – 2019 FQS Threadology Quilt Along
For August the number is #10 – to continue working on a Mystery Quilt Along sponsored by Fat Quilt Shop – Threadology 2019 Fat Quarter Shop Charity QAL (Quilt Along). The next step for this project is to create 48 Spool Blocks to add as a border.
Since these will be done as Leaders/Enders while working on other projects, I figure I should add another UFO to work on during August. In July I really made progress on FQS 2014 Wishes Mystery QAL so I want to keep the progress going. I want to add 2 borders to Wishes and maybe begin on piecing the backing.
It is so exciting to see some of my UFOs approach completion!
My August OMG – 2021 Scrap Dance Pachanga
Again, this month, I will be participating in the One Monthly Goal sponsored by Elm Street Quilts Blog. My goal for August is to get the final 9 Block B’s pieced. As a bonus, I hope to get them pieced together in Rows.
Formerly expected to be a queen size quilt, I decided to make two throw sized quilts. Once these 9 blocks are completed, I can whip together the rows and add 2 borders which will make Throw #2 top completed.

My August Goals – As if I don’t have enough to do
I have so many things partially done, I’m trying to make a list to help me keep on track.
- Make tops for Fabric Cafe, as needed (Currently working on 3).
- Commissioned Quilt – Sandwich & Quilt
- My Hometown – Blocks 4, 5, Corner Blocks
- Hand piece Inner Border for HPQAL-Harmony
- Trim & Add Label & Binding for Autumn Jubilee
- 9 Patch Rows – Get another row done
- Backings needed (either to cut/piece or buy)
Is anyone started making Christmas Presents yet? I always mean to get an early start, but never do.
Happy Stitching

Lovely projects. Good luck with your goals. I cancelled Xmas a long time ago so I never have to worry about that deadline anymore.
