The finishing instructions were revealed on Tuesday for the Fat Quarter Shop’s Mystery Quilt Along which was the first of my four Fall 2021 Current Projects. The 5 steps are still available if you’d like to make this. The pattern is free and can be downloaded from Fat Quarter Shop’s website.
The past three days there was no sewing done. But I am all set up to get some serious stitching completed in the next few days.
Last week we finished the final block/row for All the Trimmings. Row 1- Holly Berries, Row 2 – Stockings, Row 3 – Ribbons and Row 4 – Christmas Trees.
Several other Bloggers have been stitching along and one of them is Pat Sloan. Pat has chosen to go one step farther and add a Piano Key border using some of the leftovers from the Layer Cake used in creating the blocks. This idea has grown on me and I’m seriously thinking of doing the same. Her additional border isn’t finished yet, but you can read about it Here. She also has a video explaining how to add a Piano key border to any quilt.
Yesterday, I finished adding the sashing required in Tuesday’s clue. This is a finish according to the pattern. I’ll set this aside for a bit while I work on my other 3 Fall 2021 Current Projects and decide if I will finish it as is, or add a Piano Key border.
I cannot call this a finish as I may be adding another step. I’m happy I’ve been able to keep up with this project. So I’m calling Week #5 completed.
I have also downloaded the 3rd pattern for Snowmen and Silent Night which is #2 of my Fall 2021 Current Projects, and have worked on it. But that’s for another post. I think I have some serious stitching to do. I’d better get at it!
Keeping up with Autumn Jubilee 2021
I am doing the Quilt Along part of Autumn Jubilee 2021 which began last Friday. But quilting is not the only activity happening. Wednesday, Carole introduced the first step for a Wool Needle Case with an Autumn theme. Click here to read more about her Autumn Jubilee Wool Stitch Along. If you enjoy hand stitching, you may want to do this project.
Beautiful weather today. We got out and walked around some. But then came in to do a lot of stitching. Hope you can enjoy some good weather where you are and also get some stitching done.
oh now that is adorable!!! What a fun quilt you will have for Christmas!!
