Autumn Jubilee 2021 Quilt Along continues this week. But before we go ahead with the Quilt Along, I just wanted to make sure you were aware that quilting is not the only project that Carole at From My Carolina Home has in store for us. Just this week she shared the following:
Click on the links above to read about each, and remember she has wonderful sponsors related to these activities that have provided prizes. Follow the directions if you want to be eligible for a prize.
I have many projects going on this fall, but I always save time to participate in her Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along. Sometimes it is a mystery, but this year it is a Table Topper. Click Here to see her table topper along with some possible variations.
Last week was Step #1 – Collect your Scraps and cut up as noted in the Fabric Requirements. I’ll admit it. I didn’t cut up my fabric. One, I had a lot to do, and Two, I like to cut as I go.
This week is Step 2: Make 8 Leaves. I downloaded the instructions, but had to wait until I finished another project before I could begin. After lunch I sorted through my box of Autumn themed fabrics. I don’t have my scraps organized, so I pulled some yardage and cut 1 strip of 4″ fabric and 1 strip of 3″ fabric. My logic is that I could sub-cut these into various sizes. I used 6-10 different fabrics and did include a few scraps.
Every leaf has a stem, so first I made 8 stems. I had four cream fabrics and two brown fabrics that I used.
Next I will be making the required Half Square Triangles and assembling my leaves. I will be working on the rest of my leaves this week as I work on some other projects. Later today, Clue #3 for 2021 Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge and I will be working on that.
It’s looking like a very busy weekend. Hope you get some time to stitch this week.
Thanks so much!! Autumn Jubilee is fun for me too. Love your autumn scraps and can’t wait to see your leaves.
