I’m behind a bit on posting my progress so I’m combining two blocks in one post. This was the second Fall 2021 Current Project to begin. Week #3 block came out last week and block #4 came out yesterday. This wall hanging/table topper is Snowmen & Silent Night. Jacquelynne Steves is sharing this project via email. You can check out her website The Art of Home.

This has been a fun and easy project. The blocks are similar & go together quickly. One issue I’ve had is that the pattern calls for embroidered snowmen on white fabric as the middle of each block. I chose to use red fabric with Christmas-themed words and this caused a bit of a clash in the color placement of block #2 and I modified it to look better.
Unfortunately I did not catch that before cutting out the fabric for Block #3. Although it doesn’t look bad, I just wasn’t happy with it.
So I made another block with a design change. Because my center block is Red, I chose to use the Green for the Red in the flying geese and changed one red for a green in the 4-patches.
See them together. Yup. I like the one with the Green better.
Block #4 is the final block. Next week we’ll get finishing instructions. I did not need to make any adjustments to the color placement.
So here you have all 4 blocks finished.
I really think I will make an additional 2 sets/8 more blocks total so I can make a throw. But that may wait until next month.
Tomorrow’s another day of stitching!
