Tuesday was another Fall Quilt Along (QAL) that I am doing. This QAL is also a Christmas themed one and began last Tuesday.
Actually, I think the Fat Quarter Shop planned this for this past summer – maybe a Christmas in July event, but like so many things there were delivery delays with the fabric they planned to use to make kits. It is a wall hanging and will continue for three more weeks. There is a companion Cross Stitch Sew Along. The patterns are free and for more information check out Fat Quarter Shops Blog.
Fall QAL – Tuesdays – Christmas Time, a Wall Hanging
So, last week we got Block #1 – a Cup of Cheer. #ChristmastimeQAL
I am using left over Layer Cake fabric & scraps from last year’s All the Trimmings Mystery QAL by Fat Quarter Shop & filling in with other scraps from my Christmas fabric. I had purchased their kit which used the Christmas Morning collection by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics.
The 2nd block was released yesterday – Hard Candy Christmas. This one was a bit more of a challenge because it has 32 pieces that are 1-1/2″ square!
I am happy to say I am keeping up and getting my QAL blocks done the day they are released!
Other Tuesday Stitching
- Stitched 4 more 16-Patch blocks & cut pieced strips for an additional 8 blocks.
- Borders & more Borders – I added the White & Red Borders to my Old Glory Quilt of Valor. Now I have only the Blue Border to add and to piece the backing. Then it can be off to my Longarm Quilter.
