And the Sewing Continues

Well, like it usually does, Monday came around again and I have a day to spend in the Sewing Room.

Fall QAL – Mondays – Around A Star, a Wall Hanging

Step #6 for this QAL was posted Monday morning and I downloaded and printed it. Unfortunately, I only got it cut and will stitch it tomorrow. It is actually 4 of the same blocks.

Catching up with other QALs

The QOV 2022 Mystery QAL – Long May She Wave is my Wednesday QAL. This is not as quick as other QALs and I haven’t finished. The fabric was cut to make the required Flying Geese, so I continued sewing, trimming & ironing a gaggle of geese. – Didn’t get to my geese. 😦

Last Saturday was the first of nine clues for the Project Linus 2022 Mystery Challenge QAL. I have the fabric cut for the remaining 3 Friendship Stars and am stitching them as I work on the other projects. UGH, I had to unstitch 4 pairs. I had stitched the yellow fabric wrong-side-out.

Other Sewing Getting Done

Project #1 – Queen Quilt/Puzzle Me This – Fabric has been cut, so I am able to do some quick strip piecing.

Project #2 – 16-Patch Blocks – More Strip Piecing to make additional 16-Patch Blocks.

Not Stitching Activities

Remember I mentioned ripening bananas? I made Blueberry Banana Bread – You can get the recipe I used at Dinners, Dishes & Desserts. I did a few things different. I made 12 muffins and a small loaf instead of a big loaf. Muffins are good for portion control. I used frozen blueberries and substituted 3/4 cup white wheat flour for 3/4 cup All Purpose Flour. I meant to sprinkle the tops of the muffins with Cinnamon Sugar before baking. Next time I make this recipe I may substitute unsweetened applesauce for half of the butter to try and make it a bit healthier.

I spent the afternoon in the kitchen instead of my sewing room. In addition to the muffins/loaf, I made meatloaf. Dinner was Meatloaf, Zucchini Squash & Onions with Mashed Potatoes. Leftover meatloaf is great for sandwiches.

Hoping tomorrow more stitching gets done.

Happy Stitching!
