Morning had no stitching. First thing, I did a mile walk in the neighborhood. (Then, of course I had to rest!).
The rest of the morning was consumed with computer/business work. I guess it’s a necessary evil.
Fall QAL –Tuesdays – FQS 2022 Christmas Time Mystery QAL
The Fall Quilt Alongs that I’m doing are all in different stages. The Fat Quarter Shop Christmas QAL was suppose to be in July but due to delay in receiving the fabric they were making kits for it has been delayed until fall.
Tuesday was the release of Clue #3 – Christmas Cards. What takes me soooo long is choosing fabrics to go together in the block – looking for lights & darks, contrast & color combinations. I find this part of quilting a bit frustrating. It is difficult for me to imagine how the different colors & designs will look once cut & reassembled into a block/quilt.
Once the fabrics were picked, I did get the pieces cut. These pieces are kind of small, so I did iron and stiffen them with Mary Ellen’s Best Spray (not quite a starch, but does help give fabric some stiffness/body).
I didn’t get it stitched. This will have to be done on one of my catch-up days. After all it doesn’t need to be finished until next Tuesday.
I did get Monday’s QAL stitched today. It was to make 4 of the same block that were just a quick stitch, trim & flip. There are only two more clues in this Mystery QAL.
Other Tuesday Stitching
The only other stitching I did was a bit of mending for my daughter.
I don’t really feel like I got alot accomplished, but I’m pooped! It was an early night for me!
Happy Stitching!
